...But this is Indiana!

In 49 other states, it's just sports.

Big Day For College Football Fans In Indiana

Big Ten Football Returns!!!

The Indiana Hoosiers and the Ball State Cardinals opened the 2010 College Football season for most Indiana fanatics of the sport on Thursday.

Today, the first Saturday of the season, is when the BIG fun begins!

Nothing against Indiana and their 51-17 victory over... wait, who was that team? Oh yeah! Towson University in the 'mighty' Colonial Academic Division. Sorry, no offense to the Hoosiers thumping a no-name sacrificial lamb to open their season, but Purdue v. Notre Dame is clearly top billing for the start of the college season.

SB Nation Indiana is lucky to have Travis Miller (our college football guru) at the game today, covering the events for this site and for the Purdue blog Hammer and Rails. In addition to the in-state rivalry of Purdue v. ND, we have Louisville traveling to arch-rival Kentucky to open their 2010 season.

Yes, we cover Louisville football here.

Why? Because we like Louisville football.

The Notre Dame opener will feature the debut of new head coach Brian Kelly while the Louisville game will feature new Cards coach Charlie Strong roaming the sidelines.

Summer is leaving and football is returning, folks. It's my absolute favorite time of year! Enjoy the games (and our cover of the games).
