After one of the top performances of the 2011 season, Oriol Servia has found a new home. Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announced that the Spaniard will be the primary driver for the team in 2012.
Driving for Newman/Haas Racing in 2011, Servia returned to the field after being absent in 2010, scoring a fourth-place finish in the IZOD IndyCar Series. Included in the year was a run at the provisional pole for the Indianapolis 500, eventually qualifying third, and podium finishes at Milwaukee, New Hampshire (controversially) and Baltimore.
With Newman/Haas’ departure from the INDYCAR paddock in the offseason, Servia was one of the top targets of teams. Dreyer & Reinbold will be a factory Lotus team in 2012.
