In 49 other states, it's just sports.
The Big Ten faces some of its final tough non-conference tests this weekend, so here are your SBNation: Indiana picks for the 12 games around the conference this weekend:
Eastern Michigan at Michigan
The Wolverines should cruise at home against a team that has faced on FCS foes to this point. Michigan 52, Eastern Michigan 13
Penn State at Temple
The Nittany Lions have won 28 straight against the Owls, but don't be surprised if Temple makes a game of this one. Penn State 24, Temple 17
Southeast Missouri State at Purdue
For one week at least the Boilermakers shouldn't have much of a trouble. I can't say much about the rest of the year. Purdue 37, SE Missouri State 13
Pittsburgh at Iowa
The Hawkeyes lost the Cy-Hawk trophy last week and dropped a close one at Pittsburgh the last time these two met. Iowa City should help a lot. Iowa 24, Pittsburgh 20
South Carolina State at Indiana
The Hoosiers catch a break this week and get the first win of the Kevin Wilson era. Indiana 49, S. Carolina St. 10
Michigan State at Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish have one of the best offenses in the nation... as long as they don't shoot themselves in the foot. MSU has a salty defense that allowed one first down last week. That's not what the Irish need right now. Michigan State 27, Notre Dame 24
Miami (OH) at Minnesota
Get well soon, Minnesota coach Jerry Kill. He may or may not be on the sidelines for this one, but the Golden Gophers need a lot more than him right now. Miami (OH) 24, Minnesota 23
Washington at Nebraska
The Huskies play the Cornhuskers for the third time in 12 months. Nebraska rolled in the regular season last year and should be fine at home. Nebraska 31, Washington 17
Northwestern at Army
Look for the Wildcats to continue their solid play while admiring the corps of cadets. Northwestern 37, Army 14
Wisconsin vs. Northern Illinois at Chicago
Northern Illinois played the Badgers very close in Madison two years ago, and Chandler Harnish has matured greatly since then. Unfortunately, Wisconsin is one of the best teams in the country in my opinion. Wisconsin 28, Northern Illinois 17
Arizona State at Illinois
This is a chance for the Big Ten to make a statement as one of its perceived middle of the pack teams hosts a ranked Pac-10 team. This could be one of the most underrated games of the day. Arizona State 28, Illinois 27
Ohio State at Miami (FL)
This is another rematch of the famous flag and the 2002 national Title game. Jacory Harris will start for Miami, but the Hurricanes would be better off starting Stephen Morris. Good Harris will show up though and shock the Buckeyes, who struggled way too much with Toledo. Miami 30, Ohio State 24
