Indiana native George Hill made a triumphant return to his hometown this past summer when he was traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Indiana Pacers.
Thanks to the NBA lockout, the combo guard had to wait an extra two months before suiting up and playing a game in front of the home-town crowd at Conseco Fieldhouse. Unfortunately things didn't go so well for Hill in his Pacers debut, as he struggled to find his shooting rhythm while playing for the first time with some odd lineups that likely won't see the light of day during the regular season.
Hill's stat line reveals the rough night scoring just 3 points with 1 assist and 1 turnover in 19 minutes which included making just 1 of 7 shots from the field. Hill wasn't the only player off the bench to struggle shooting the ball, since the group combined to make just 4 of 23 shots on the night.
But Hill took it the hardest which was apparent after the game. It was curious to not see him in the locker room following the game but he wasn't ducking the media. Instead, Hill went straight to the practice court at Conseco Fieldhouse to put up more shots and work out that frustration.
Hill doesn't carry a loud or boisterous voice in the Pacers locker room, but these types of actions will surely help provide much needed leadership among the players going forward.
