NFL Week 12: Colts Fantasy Football Update

How will the Colts fare Fantasy Football wise this Sunday against the Chargers?

Quarterback:

Peyton Manning - He's on the "never sit" list, but this week he may not have the huge week people come to expect from him. The Chargers are the 2nd best team against QBs this year, so expect somewhere between 18 - 22 points.

Running Backs:

Joseph Addai: It was reported he will participate in non-contact drills this week, and will most likely be a game-time decision Sunday night.  Unless you have Donald Brown as well, it's probably not a good idea to hope that Addai plays this week.  Wait until he's played a week before inserting him into the lineup.

Donald Brown: He had his best game of the year last week against the Patriots, and he should get 15 or so carries if he's the main back.  His problem has been that Javarris James has taken the bulk of the goal line carries, making Brown's fantasy value pretty low.  Only use in emergencies.

Mike Hart: Until he's back in the lineup for a week, I wouldn't remotely think about Hart.  If he gets back before Addai, he could be a nice sleeper pick.  But that won't be this week.

Javarris James:  He won't get enough consistent carries to make it into a fantasy lineup, but he has scored 3 TDs in 3 games. He's one more injury away from being a flex player.

Wide Receivers:

Reggie Wayne: Teams have been focused on stopping Wayne this season, especially with the injuries.  The emergence of Blair White last week could help ease the double coverage on Wayne, so expect 8-12 points from Wayne this week.  He's pretty close to being a "never sit".

Pierre Garcon: He's only scored 1 TD all season, back in Week 6 against the Redskins.  Manning doesn't look his way as often as the other receivers, so don't play Garcon.

Blair White: Time to go get White.  Austin Collie has already been ruled out for Sunday, so expect White to play in the slot, making him a favorite target against the 3-4 defense of the Chargers.  He's scored 3 TDs in 4 games.  Go get him, and play him this week.

Brandon James: Do not play or pickup.

Tight Ends:

Jacob Tamme: The Chargers are ranked 26th against TE this season, so expect Tamme to have a big night.  15 points is a definite possibility.  Play him and don't think twice.

Brody Eldridge, Gijon Robinson: Do not play or pickup.

Kicker:

Adam Vinatieri: The Chargers defense is pretty average at Red Zone Defense, so Vinatieri could get a FG opportunity or two.  Fantasy-wise the Chargers are 17th.  Kickers are so fickle, but AV might not be a bad play this week.

Defense:

The Colts are at home, so the defense will show up this week.  I expect the Chargers to score at least 17 points, so all points will have to come from Turnovers and sacks.  Look for 5-8 points.
