Did Notre Dame Have Too Many Men On The Field When They Were Taking A Knee?

A picture has been circling the Interwebs today, showing that on Notre Dame's last drive, which started at the ND 1 yard line, the Irish had 12 men on the field, which is obviously not allowed.  On subsequent plays it is not certain whether the correct number of players were on the field, but it looks like ND just needs more practice in the victory formation.

Interestingly enough, it actually looks like there are 22 players on the field, as USC looks to only have 10 on the field, unless they had somebody playing deep safety, and was out of the shot.  I'd say that's highly unlikely, as running a QB sneak was the only play ND was going to run there.  There's also a rumor that a USC player came out on the field and just switched uniforms, making it a 12-on-10 play.
